Back in Aberdeen for the World Conference on Marine Biodiversity, for which I have organized (and am chairing) a thematic session entitled The Fossil Record of Marine Biodiversity.
I'm hoping it will be a good meeting, as the registration fee was a staggering £425 (becoming £485 if you signed up late) and doesn't even include the congress dinner or wi-fi access at the exhibition centre. As far as I can tell, all you get for your money is permission to come in, a PR-laden goodie bag, and all the coffee you can drink.
Fingers crossed the science will be value for money, then...
