Tea bagging in Northumberland


Whilst staying in the aptly titled Peacock Cottage, Newton-by-the-Sea, Northumberland, I was puzzled to read the following notice on display in the bathroom:

PLEASE DO NOT PUT TEA BAGS, NAPPIES OR OTHER SANITARY DISPOSABLES DOWN THE TOILET.

Now I'm no expert on the health education available to people in northeastern England, but the use of teabags as a sanitary product is surely not encouraged?
