"If Middlesbrough had had an octopus in goal today it wouldn't have helped."
No Gary, I doubt it would.
However, perhaps he's been advising his old clubs, as Tottenham have signed a Brazilian goalkeeper with the nickname 'The Octopus'. They obviously overlooked the fact that the one discipline of football Brazil is not famed for is its goalkeeping. Still, Spurs are languishing at the bottom of the Premier League, so they won't make that mistake again.
