The weather is absolutely disgusting in Aberdeen this morning. It's cold, the wind is gusting and swirling about with delight, and the rain is bucketing down. Foolishly I decided to walk to campus and my trousers are now saturated. The temperamental wind also inverted my umbrella on numerous occasions, and the gutters and the drains couldn't cope with the deluge, so lakes and waterfalls are filling the streets. It's been pretty nasty weather for the last couple of weeks, undermining Aberdeen's claim to being a dry city. I only hope it is ok on Saturday night as we have the Granite City Ball taking place in the Beach Ballroom: I'm told the event is usually greeted with blizzard conditions!
