Every week, the University of Aberdeen communications people send round an email listing the various forms of media in which university employees have appeared. This week, one link was to a story about increasing numbers of killer whales being sighted off British coasts, with an Aberdeen Uni scientist leading the study. I was particularly impressed by the following quote:

'Paul Harvey, from the Shetland Biological Records Centre, which is home to Britain's biggest population [of killer whales], said: "We are definitely seeing more."'

He did not say "Whoaaargh! My biological records centre is full of killer whales!" as one might have expected.
